2020 Loddon Healthy Minds Network Art Competition Playtime

Continuing to raise awareness of mental health within the Loddon community; the Loddon Healthy Minds Art Competition has been on again in 2020!!

This year the themes were

Open Section & Aged 14-18 years: ‘Stop Stigma’

Aged 9-14 years: ‘Living happy & healthy’

Aged under 9 years: ‘Kindness begins with me’ colouring poster

These art themes challenged entrants to explore why mental health is important to everyone, and looking at their own mental health.

This year we had four sections; Open, Upper secondary, Middle school and Junior.

 All 76 entries have now been collected and judging completed on 29 October. Please note there were no Open section entries this year

Eligibility:

  • The artwork must be in line with the theme for each section and is open to entries from Loddon Shire residents.
  • Section age groups:
    • Open section for those aged over 18, or under 18 if no longer attending secondary school
    • Upper secondary section for those aged 14 to 18 attending secondary school  
    • Middle school section for those aged 9 to 14
    • Junior section for those from grade Prep - Grade 2 and the second Junior section grade 3 - grade 4.

Artwork entries:

  • All work is to be completed within the last 12 months and solely by the artist and meets the theme of their section.
  • The junior section must use the ‘Kindness begins with me’ colouring poster provided by the Healthy Minds Network. 
  • Size of artwork is to be 1 metre square maximum and A4 minimum (needs to be transportable).
  • Any medium can be used (painting, drawing, photography, sculpture etc).

 ART COMPETITION

Best in Show:           Art supplies to the value of $70 

Section winners:

Open:                         Art supplies to the value of $50

Upper secondary:     Art supplies to the value of $50 (one per school)

Middle school:           Art supplies to the value of $50 (one per school)

Junior school:           Art supplies to the value of $20 (one per school)

Section runners up:

Open:                         Art supplies to the value of $20

Upper secondary:     Art supplies to the value of $20 (one per school)

Middle school:          Art supplies to the value of $20 (one per school)

Junior:                       Art supplies to the value of $10 (one per school)

LITERARY COMPETITION 

Winner:                      Art supplies to the value of $50

Runner up:                Art supplies to the value of $20
